One Wild Weekend!

Every year L’Arche Communities from across the UK participate in the Greenbelt Festival of arts, faith and activism. Unfortunately, this year it had to be cancelled due to Covid… But our eager members from L'Arche Nottingham wouldn’t take ‘NO’ for an answer which led them to hosting a festival of their own - the HopeFest! They invited other Communities to join them for a bit of fun and it was a truly meaningful reunion for a lot of people who haven't seen each other for months!

It took place over the August bank holiday weekend where more than 70 members and friends of L’Arche gathered for loads of camping fun, games and spiritual spaces in beautiful Hope Valley, Derbyshire. There was yo-dancing (bet you don’t know what that is!), creative craftivism, a sing-a-long celebration – and a special performance from in-house band The Old Codgers.
