Cherie Blair, human rights lawyer As well as being the wife of a former Prime Minister, Cherie, Lady Blair, is a distinguished human rights lawyer. With her expertise in discrimination and employment, she was a great person to speak to about the challenge to find work if you have a learning disability. In England, only around 5% of adults with learning disability are in paid work. In Scotland, it’s even less. Many people with learning disability are discouraged even from looking for a paid job, because they would be risking the employment benefits they need to get by. Tony, Richard, Lucy and John went to discuss this case of work exclusion with Lady Blair at her home in London. You can watch highlights of their conversation in this two-minute video, and see what they made of Lady Blair’s barrister’s wig! More Power Cuppas Manage Cookie Preferences
