Why work for L’Arche? Care is at the centre of the human experience. It includes everything from relationship, to love, to professional support. That’s why people who work for L’Arche build real, deep and lasting relationships with those they support, and their colleagues, growing together in body, mind and spirit. L'Arche has a unique environment [...] There is a huge sense of community and inclusiveness and, although my role has it's own challenges, it doesn't entirely feel like you are "at work", as you would in a more formal, institutionalised workplace. 2024 Inclusion Survey Respondent Attracting new talent You may never have worked as a carer or support worker. But if you have strong skills and experience in building relationships or caring for someone, L’Arche might be a great place for you to work. To encourage and develop young talent in L’Arche, we run an Internship programme. You’ll spend a year living in a L’Arche house, supporting people with learning disabilities and building community, while pursuing a course in spiritual development facilitated by L’Arche. For people starting out in their career, we also offer Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion We celebrate diversity and seek to build inclusive Communities where everyone is treated fairly, with kindness and respect, and valued for who they are.
