Support we offer in Preston At the heart of our Community is the support we provide to thirteen adults with learning disabilities in two different houses: Moor Fold and The Loom. Some of those we support choose to live in their own flat, others share a home with other people with learning disabilities and the L’Arche assistants who support them. We enable people we support to lead active and connected lives, by supporting them to take up local voluntary and employment opportunities, and by the various activity groups we run: Soupercraft - an arts and crafts session with lunch, great for meeting new people and learning new skills; Gardening club - to enhance our outdoor spaces, and boost well-being by connecting with nature and the outdoors; Rambling club - another great way to meet people, stay physically active and support your emotional health. We also have weekly visits from Manny boy the therapy dog which everyone enjoys. We have a long history of working with social services and social work departments, health authorities, primary care trusts, registration and regulatory authorities, housing associations and others, to provide high quality support that is recognised as being truly responsive to people with learning disabilities.
