At the heart of our Community is the support we provide in Glasfryn, a family sized house where people with and without learning a learning disability share life together. The focus of our support is the relationships we build with each other around the meal table, as well as other parties and celebrations.

There is a flat next door to Glasfryn, occupied by someone supported by our team as part of our Community, who enjoys a more independent lifestyle.

We also have a programme of day activities, including a new community gardening project, which is open to people with disabilities living in or outside L’Arche. Our workshop, located in the town centre, is home to Rebound Books, our award-winning project where we turn unwanted old books into beautiful diaries and notebooks.

We have a long history of working with social services and social work departments, health authorities, primary care trusts, registration and regulatory authorities, others, to provide high quality support that is recognised as being truly responsive to people with learning disabilities.

Our most recent Care Inspectorate Wales report (August 2023) praised our "ethos of inclusivity", quoting one sector professional who said: “this is a service I really admire. There is an equilibrium here, and the person’s wishes are always the starting point”.
