With social care in crisis, it’s harder than ever to find good support provision. But care alone is not enough. Paul’s story below shows that only community stands between independence and loneliness.

Paul Jones arrived in Glasfryn House, L’Arche Brecon, twelve years ago. Loneliness, exploitation and illness had made living independently impossible.

Today, he lives in his own flat, as Glasfryn's next door neighbour. He leads an active and creative life rebinding and selling old books, surrounded by friends, and chairing L’Arche’s National Speaking Council.

In the video below Paul shows Mariusz how his life turned around when he found friendship and belonging in L'Arche.
