At the heart of our Community is the support we provide to people with learning disabilities. We have a long history of working with social services and social work departments, health authorities, primary care trusts, registration and regulatory authorities, housing associations and others, to provide high quality support that is responsive to people with learning disabilities.

In L’Arche Bognor Regis, we support people in three residential homes, where five or six people with learning disabilities live alongside a team of L'Arche assistants who support them. Our Community also includes three supported living homes, and we support other people with learning disabilities who live semi-independently within the town.

The people we support tell us they want to lead active, empowered and sociable lives, with plenty of room for fun. We run a number of regular Community events to make that possible: our inclusive choir and running group on Mondays, a Wednesday arts and crafts group, Thursday tea and reflection group, Friday drama group. We also run a gardening project, community lunches on Friday, monthly "voice" meetings where people with learning disabilities share what's on their mind with members of the management and support team.
