For fifty years, L’Arche has seen people with and without disabilities together build Communities of friendship, home and radical welcome. It’s what people with disabilities are so often crying out for. It’s what we all want, to live life really well.

Fifty years on, L’Arche is still the place for people who won’t accept a society or a system that marginalises people with disabilities. People who won’t accept that adults with learning disabilities must put up with dwindling Government support, faceless bureaucracy, and diminished days.

Now, after a decade of underfunding and recruitment crises in social care, the L’Arche joyful rebellion depends on the donations of people who believe we can do better.

We have a new 2030 vision for a joyful alternative to the “social care crisis”. People with learning disabilities enjoying voice and power.  Renewed spiritual life in L’Arche, with greater depth and diversity.  Soulful internships to attract young people. A new generation of volunteers and friends around our Communities.
