The Care Apprenticeship Kickstart your career in a nurturing environment! Work towards a Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care while working in a friendly, inclusive Community. The Care Apprenticeship is an 18-24 month programme, based at one of our L'Arche Communities in either England, Scotland or Wales. As an apprentice, you will support our members with learning disabilities to live full lives while working towards your qualification. The programme is the perfect preparation for a career in care: you’ll share life with people with learning disabilities, while learning best practice in the Health and Social Care field. Along with other assistants, you will mostly support a small number of people with learning disabilities in their home. Your training will be monitored by a local training provider, but the vast majority of learning will take place on site. You can do the Apprenticeship while living locally to L'Arche, or by becoming a live-in Assistant in one of our Communities. As an Apprentice in L'Arche, you'll learn care-giving and professional skills, and develop as a whole person too. It will be challenging at times, and demand resilience. But you'll belong to a community where people look out for each other, and there'll be plenty of joy, fun and laughter along the way too. I was a different person at the end of a year in L’Arche versus the beginning. There aren’t many workplaces you can say that about. Sarah, Assistant at L’Arche Manchester Could the Care Apprenticeship be for you? The Care Apprenticeship would work for people at lots of different stages of life. Maybe you’re eighteen, wanting or needing to move away from home but not keen on university. Maybe you’re at the beginning of your career. Or maybe you’re later in life but looking for more life-giving work. Join one of our close-knit Communities and launch yourself into a new stage of life. *The Care Apprenticeship is for anyone who already has the right to live and work in the UK. If you want to join L'Arche but need a visa, please consider applying to become a Live-In Community Worker. Apprenticeship vacancies Apprenticeship vacancies Privacy notice Manage Cookie Preferences
