L’Arche Liverpool is a Community of around 250 people, based in Fairfield, Tuebrook and South Liverpool. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site with a unique maritime history. We are a culture hotpot, with the most museums and art galleries in the UK outside London.
Our Community includes around 40 people with learning disabilities, who we support at home, and 50 people with learning disabilities who we support in our Day Services, along with volunteers, friends, families, neighbours and L’Arche assistants. We have been in Fairfield since 1976, and have close ties to local churches and community groups. And we offer work placements through partnerships with local schools and universities.
Liverpool is the Music Capital of the World. And music is very much a part of daily life within the Liverpool Community too. At the Ark, our Day Service and Community Hub, our favourite activities include drumming, singing and dancing. We also have a Garden Project that enables people to be outdoors and get new skills and experiences. Everything we do at the Ark nurtures wellbeing, creativity, independence and communication skills.
