In L'Arche, we believe that to be human is to be spiritual. And we try and share our lives at this level too. 

But our Communities are full of diversity and difference. Many of us are Christian, others are from different faith backgrounds or are not religious. So it can be daunting to create and hold space for spiritual sharing where people really show up and encounter each other at depth.

At the same time, we experience how being people with and without learning disabilities can help. Making ourselves understood and listening to each other well can be hard. We get through by finding creative ways to communicate that are uncomplicated and authentic, visual and embodied, playful and fun. 

That's what has inspired the ideas and practices in our Spirituality Flipbook, co-designed by members of L'Arche. It is divided into three sections - Beginnings, Middles and Endings - each containing 27 pages. We think that makes 19,683 different spiritual spaces altogether!
