Core members and assistants at L’Arche Brecon are working together to rebind old hardback books into beautiful journals and notebooks.

Rebound Books are individually and uniquely created from original publications. Made in their Brecon studio, people with and without learning disabilities work together to  remove the spines from the original books and, using a quality reclaimed paper, intersperse blank pages with selected pages from the original book.

The books are then wire bound into unique journals and notebooks.

Agnes, a workshop facilitator at Rebound Books, shares: ‘Everybody here enjoys what they are doing. Just because we think a person might not be able to do something doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to do it. It is about working together to discover our gifts.’

Rebound Books online shop contains hundreds of titles to choose from. You can also send your own books to be recycled into a journal or newsletter and the team will then return them to you by post (using old pages as packaging!).
