Emily, Eleanor, Emma, Ruth, Diane, Nem, Ben, Kevin, Naomi, Trish and Emma (another Emma!) are taking part in the Manchester 10k Run on Sunday 20th May.

Also, Isaac (12) will be doing the 2.5 K Junior Run for the 3rd time and Lydia (9) is moving up from 1.5K Mini to 2.5K Junior Run this year.

Emily is an ‘old hand’ at this. She has been ‘running’ the Manchester 10k for several years now. Emily is in a wheelchair (in fact she has an amazing three-wheeler, all-terrain buggy) and requires a team of runners to push her around the course. This year our team is bigger than ever. Many are coming back for a fifth year but Eleanor and Emma are running with us for the first time, having joined L’Arche Manchester last Autumn. With more than a dozen 5k Parkruns between them, they have set their sights on the challenge of a 10K. We are so proud of them.

Go Emma! Go Eleanor! Go Emily!

We want to raise lots of money for L’Arche communities around the world who need our support.

There are 152 L'Arche communities in 37 countries around the world.

We are fundraising for communities who receive little, or no, government funding; for communities who work tirelessly to pay for necessities such as food, clothes and medicine for the people they support, and for communities who are geographically far apart from other L’Arche communities.

Financial support from L'Arche UK is crucial. There are houses and programmes for people with learning disabilities in twenty countries where, without L'Arche UK funding, support would otherwise not exist.

Thank you to each and every person who is able to support us.
