Full time, permanent role Salary: £22,673 p.a (rising to £23,381 in year two)
Based in West Norwood in South East London.
Closing date: 9am on Friday 24 May 2019 Interviews: Wednesday 29 May 2019

Do you have a passion for ensuring people with disabilities live fulfilled lives? Do you want to help lead a community that really tries to value people for who they are and what they can do?

L’Arche London is more than just a service provider, we’re a diverse, inclusive community of nearly 100 people, with and without learning disabilities who live, work and celebrate together. We provide registered care and supported housing as well as specialist day services. Our aim is to provide a place of belonging, to help people with learning disabilities live independent yet connected lives.

We’re now looking for a new Deputy Service Co-ordinator to join our leadership team.

You will support the Service Coordinator to deliver high quality person centred support for Apple Group, one of our three community groups. Apple group supports 7 people with learning disabilities with a range of differing needs. Everyone lives in our supporting living programme and takes part in our day services. Together with the Service Coordinator you will manage and inspire a team of 16 support assistants, who facilitate the practical, social and spiritual needs of everyone in the group.

Deputy Service Coordinators split their time between the office - organising rotas, liaising with families, social services and health care professionals, and providing 16 hours a week rota-ed support time.

L’Arche is a vibrant, joyful place to be. We’re part of an international federation of L’Arche communities in over 100 countries worldwide. Founded in the Christian tradition, L'Arche Communities welcome people of all faiths and none. Our vision is a world where all belong.

We’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience of supporting people with learning disabilities but far more essential is an enthusiasm for our values and the ability to inspire and manage others.

It is an exciting time to join L’Arche as we are at the beginning of a new 4 year plan of development.  Our Service Coordinators and Deputies will be key in shaping this future – reimagining what support, care and shared lives can look like, building on our existing quality and on the unique faith-based values of L’Arche, as well as growing the numbers of people we support.

How to apply: Applicants are asked to send a CV and a letter of no more two sides of A4, explaining how your skills, experience and knowledge meet the person specification for the role. The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 24 May 2019. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 29 May 2019. Applications should be sent to [email protected]

We are looking for someone to start from July 2019 onwards to facilitate a handover with the current holder of the post.
