Full time, permanent role Salary: £26,780 p.a (rising to £27, 810 in year two)
Based in West Norwood in South East London.
Closing date: 9am, Monday 4 November 2019.  Interviews: Week commencing 11 November 2019.

L'Arche London is a diverse, inclusive community of over 100 people, with and without learning disabilities who live, work and celebrate together. We're looking for an experienced person to lead, manage and develop our day service provision for people with learning disabilities, running a programme of therapeutic, social and skill-based activities.

Day-to-day you will manage and lead a team of facilitators, assistants and volunteers to plan and deliver activities exploring the arts, craft, gardening, creative media and IT, supporting people with learning disabilities to develop their skills. You will motivate your team to develop, pilot and evaluate new activities enabling L’Arche to provide a more person-centred programme to a larger number of participants.

Our programme is run from two locations (within walking distance of each other) - our art and craft workshop and our Garden workshop. This role will oversee the effective and safe operation of both locations, organising rotas and ensuring that all mandatory paperwork is kept up to date. This includes regular reporting and monitoring, overseeing all risk assessments and ensuring all health and safety procedures are kept up to date and are reviewed regularly.

This role is the part of the Coordinators group which leads L’Arche London. Together with the Community Leader and Head of Support and Care, you will follow up and assess referrals to the service from local authorities.

You will ensure that the small but committed volunteer team continues to grow and develop, building on our success in involving local schools, charity groups, churches, universities and corporate groups.

You and your team will identify creative ways for people with learning disabilities to report on and celebrate the things they do, helping to promote L’Arche and the people involved with it. You will also establish stronger links with current and potential partners and supporters in the local area, such as the local library and cinema.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager or facilitator, who is committed to supporting people with learning disabilities to develop their creative skills and gain a wide range of experiences. We are looking for someone with experience, but more important is a commitment to the values and purpose of L’Arche and the ability to lead and inspire a team.

Applicants are asked to send a CV and a letter of up to two sides of A4, outlining how your skills and experience match the job description, and why you feel you meet the person specification for the role.  The closing date is 9am on Monday 4 November 2019.  Interviews will be held week commencing 11 November 2019. Applications should be sent to [email protected]

Please note this post is being readvertised due to the sudden death of the previous post-holder.
