On Thursday afternoons at L'Arche Kent, a group of eight gather to make brews of 40 or so bottles of ale. "We were looking for a project that would work for some of the people in our community and so we created the grandly named Archangel Brewery." says Community leader James Cuming.

"At present, the beer is made from kits but we are fundraising to buy equipment to make beer from grain. The estimated cost of this is £2,500, and we need to find a room or garage in the centre of Canterbury with water and electricity. Our vision is to develop a financially sustainable enterprise, entirely owned by people with learning disabilities who will be its shareholders and staff, supported by volunteers."
