L’Arche London is a place of compassion, promoting growth and connections within and beyond our community.

At the heart of our Community is the support we provide to people with learning disabilities. We have a history of working with social services, health authorities, the Care Quality Commission, and housing associations to provide high-quality, responsive care.

In L’Arche London, we support people in eight supported living homes, as well as several other people with learning disabilities living on their own in the West Norwood area. We also run a larger family-sized residential care home, leading onto our community garden, where around five people with learning disabilities and five L'Arche assistants live together under one roof.

We also have a wide-ranging programme of day activities, which is open to people with disabilities living in or outside L’Arche. We work with individuals to develop daily living skills, we make space for creativity and fun and we are passionate about helping people to reach their goals.

The hubs for our activities programme is our two amazing workshops. Our large community garden workshop is where we support people to harvest and grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. We sell some of our produce locally and share the rest between our Community houses and friends. In our craft workshop, people make and sell beautiful products, such as handmade cards, candles, embroideries and much more. Our talented drama group creates its productions, scripts, costumes and props from scratch and performs in local churches and theatres.
