L’Arche Nottingham is a diverse and welcoming community of people with and without disabilities. We are based in the Midlands, and Nottingham is known as the home of the rebels! So, unlike the other L'Arche UK Communities, we don't provide housing or paid support - we are proud of our joyful rebellion.

Our Community started in 2014, comprises people who live in different houses across Nottingham and the surrounding areas; we all bring different experiences to the community. Some of us have previously lived in other L’Arche communities; others have been involved in Faith and Light Communities, while others have come to an event and wanted to spend more time getting to know us. We meet up weekly to share meals and activities together.

We have many talented people in our Community, and we often go to watch them compete in Tennis Tournaments, Swimming Competitions, Drama Productions and Concerts. We have gone to the Special Olympics as a Community to watch them win a number of medals. Trying to fit in Community Events around everyone’s busy lives can sometimes be challenging. It's one that we are up for!

Since we have such a vibrant community life, there is plenty to get involved in. We meet regularly for walks, get together at the pub, weekends away, celebrate events and have community nights called 'Together Nights’.

Our Community was given an allotment that we enjoy spending time at, so if you have spare time and live in Nottingham, we would love your support. Here in Nottingham, everyone helps out as volunteer community members.
