We’re L’Arche Manchester – a diverse and welcoming Community based in South Manchester. Manchester is a vibrant city in the North of England known for being the home of innovation in industry, science, culture and of course music. Whether you’re passionate about theatre, literature, football, great food or concerts there’s always something going on. Mancunians are known for their warm welcome and you’re sure to feel quickly at home.

Our Community houses are located in Withington and Rusholme with easy transport links into the city, but with plenty to do right on your doorstep between the independent cafes and shops, gig venues and eclectic restaurants. If hiking and the outdoors are more your thing, we’re in easy reach of the Peak District, the first of Britain’s national parks.

L’Arche Manchester just turned 10 and there’s a youthful, energy to our Community. We support 20 people with learning disabilities across 6 houses and the Hive, our day service. Our houses are embedded within the local communities they are situated in, and our neighbours are frequently seen being welcomed in for cups of tea and shared meals. We enable people with learning disabilities to be active participants in their wider community; whether that be attending places of worship, achieving a personal best at Park Run, joining a local choir or paid employment.

We have a vibrant community life and there is plenty to be getting involved in whether that's our regular Boogie Nights, monthly Gatherings, trips to the theatre or pub, walks in the countryside and prayer evenings.  We have a vision for people with and without learning disabilities to be at the heart of their local communities, and to see the gifts of people with learning disabilities in Manchester recognised and celebrated.
