Liverpool is the Music Capital of the World! And music is very much a part of daily life within the Liverpool Community!

We are spread across different areas within Liverpool. The Ark, our Day Service and Community Hub is on the outskirts of the City, it is a 20 -30 minute walk or 15 minutes bus journey. Other localities are easy to access via public transport.

Our Community includes around 40 people with learning disabilities, who we support at home, and around 50 people with learning disabilities we support at our Day Service, as well as volunteers, friends, family, neighbours and L’Arche assistants.

The Ark is the heart of the community, there is a wide range of activities including drumming, singing and dancing. The activities assist people to build relationships and friendships, this has a huge impact of health and wellbeing and reduces loneliness and isolation. We have a Garden Project that enables and empowers people to be outdoors and gain new skills and experiences. We encourage and create spaces for people to have opportunity to try new things, celebrate people’s creativity and promote independence and communication skills.

We have been a part of the Community of Fairfield since 1976, attended local churches, community groups and work in partnership with local schools and universities offering work placements.
