Work is an important part of Community life. We encourage everyone with learning disabilities to work. Some of our Communities have their own workshops. We make candles and weaving. The things that we make are sold in our own shops and in other places. In many Communities there are gardens where members can work. Some people go to external workshops in their local area. These are run by other groups. Some members have jobs in local shops or other places. Assistants always support them in their work. The other people they come into contact with help them, too. People who live outside L’Arche can come to some of our workshops.
