Quotes and testimonials

Tim

Tim was an Assistant at L’Arche Preston. He says:

‘Living with a whole range of people, with all sorts of abilities, gives me the chance to make real relationships. People with learning disabilities have so much to give – they help me as much as I help them. It’s a way of life I’d really recommend.’

Eulah

Eulah

Eulah, who’s been with L’Arche for more than four years, is an Assistant at the Lambeth Community.

‘Being able to share my life with people who have learning disabilities is a special gift to me,’ she says. ‘It’s more than just a job – it’s something that needs commitment but it can change your life. Life in a Community, with its spiritual side, too, may not suit everyone, but if you feel you’d like to experience something new and different, why not try L’Arche. I’ve not regretted it.’

Steve

Steve was an Assistant in L’Arche Bognor Regis in the early 1990s. In 2006 he wrote to us:

‘It would be true to say that no experience has left such a mark on me before or since (save perhaps my wedding). Also true that the ideals of reciprocal service and radical, creative love that drive me now were given to me by L’Arche. I hope that I can honour that gift by living in the wider Community what I first experienced with you.’
