Shared lives

The spirit of community is the spirit of shared lives – seen in how people meet and eat, talk and share, celebrate and pray together. L’Arche in Scotland has grown through the support and inspiration of many others – friends and neighbours, church and community members.

A particular inspiration has been the life of the hermitage of the Transfiguration in Midlothian, founded in 1965.

We live life to the full at L'Arche and we hope to celebrate people's lives, even in the face of diminishment and death.
We have 40 years experience in accompanying people who are aging or dying. This is our story: celebrating life

Music and song is valued by people at L’Arche. Join us at one of our open evenings that include music. We write and record too – come and sing a new song
